Aqua Expeditions to expand into East Africa

Aqua Expeditions will unveil a new ship in East Africa in December 2025.

The as yet unnamed vessel will offer five, nine and 14-night sailings around the Seychelles, as well as 10 and 11-night itineraries that explore the Seychelles and the Tanzanian islands.

The itineraries will also include visits to biodiversity hotspots such as Aldabra, Cosmoledo and Astove, as well as the lesser-visited African Banks.

Each of the sailings will feature a one-to-one crew-to-guest ratio, dining experiences created by top chefs and small group guided excursions.

The ship will become the sixth vessel in Aqua Expeditions’ fleet, joining its three river ships and two superyachts. It will also mark the brand’s entrance into Africa.

Galli Zugaro, the line’s founder and chief executive, said: “At Aqua, we’ve always been inspired to visit destinations that are off the beaten track. It was inevitable that our journey would eventually bring us to African shores.

“We are pleased to bring our unique brand of small-ship expeditions to a third continent, with a focus on travel that is both luxurious and sustainable.”
