Aqua Expeditions’ new river ship to launch this June

Aqua Expeditions’ newest river ship will sail its inaugural voyage in June – eight months after its original launch date.

Aqua Nera was due to start sailing last October but was forced to put its launch on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic. International travel resumed in Peru earlier this month.

Aqua Nera will operate three-, four- and seven-night itineraries on the Amazon river, departing from its homeport of Iquitos in Peru.

The 20-suite vessel features an Amazonian-inspired restaurant, a lounge, a spa, a river-facing plunge pool and a gym. Expert naturalist guides will be on board for experiences and talks.

A statement from the brand said Aqua Nera’s “contemporary style and bold design aesthetic would set a new standard of luxury on the Amazon river.”

Voyages on Aqua Nera start from £3,170 per person for a three-night itinerary.
