Anguilla will introduce a day-four Covid-19 testing requirement for all leisure visitors to the island, which is currently on the UK government’s green list.

The new requirement comes into effect on October 1 and is in addition to the PCR test conducted on arrival, which was implemented on July 1.

There are no quarantine requirements for international leisure visitors staying at hotels, resorts or licensed villas.

Guests must stay at their accommodation while awaiting the result of their test-on-arrival, which is usually delivered within 12 hours.

As long as this is negative, they can move freely around the island in between testing negative on arrival and receiving their day-four test.

Different rules are in place for visitors staying with people living in Anguilla, at a private home or in rental accommodation which is not a licensed villa.

The day-four PCR test can be taken at Hughes Medical Centre (West End) or Princess Alexandra Hospital (The Valley), and some hotels and villas will arrange for the day-four test to be undertaken at the holidaymaker’s accommodation.

A single testing fee of $200 – about £145 – will be charged from October 1, covering the arrival and day-four tests for all visitors.

International visitors must apply for entry permission at www.ivisitanguilla.com and submit a negative result from a Covid-19 PCR test taken three to five days before arrival.

Proof of vaccination must be uploaded to the entry application portal.

Only fully-vaccinated travellers are permitted to enter, with exemptions for under-18s and those who are pregnant.
