Anantara to debut in South America

Spas has announced plans to open its first property in Brazil next year.

The Anantara Marau Bahia Resort, formerly the Kiaroa Eco-Luxury Resort, will join the brands portfolio in July following a R$4 million renovation.

Located next to the Bay of Camamu on the Marau Peninsula in Bahia, the property will initially have 30 guest rooms, suites and bungalows. An extension of the property is plotted with plans to add suites and bungalows, some with private pools.

Dillip Rajakarier, chief executive of parent brand Minor Hotels, said: We are really thrilled to be announcing our first Anantara in South America in Bahia in Brazil. The boutique 30-room resort will be the perfect addition to the luxury Anantara portfolio and represents Anantara’s first footprint over the Atlantic Ocean as the first property in the Americas. We are excited to see this property launch in mid 2018 and bring the brand’s authentic luxury to Brazil.”

Sister brand Tivoli already has a property in Brazil. It underwent a renovation at the end of last year to be in line with Minor Hotel's standards.
